18 - Black Grass - ¡Lucha Contra De La Injusticia!
19 - Solo Moderna - The Ride

This isn't hip-hop either but many tunes that have been sampled in classic hip-hop joints. I put this together for a couple of people who didn't know too much about the funkier side of life, so thought I'd post it up here too. All at 320kbps for you audiophiles.

(and why is it on a Brighton Hip Hop blog? I used to live there, is that good enough?!)

Laura Vane & The Vipertones - Steam

I can't remember where I heard about this Brighton based girl, I think it may have been from Craig Charles' Funk & Soul show on BBCRadio6. I've heard some of her earlier stuff which is more housey, but with The Vipertones she's dropping some seriously heavy funk. She dropped her band's self-titled LP, "Laura Vane & Vipertones" in August 2009... Not hip-hop I know, but definitely dope.

Gi3mo & Jae Genius - Still Dreaming (Evolution '07)

Local faces Gi3mo & Jae Genius dropping ish heavy for the masses. Dope tune here.

South Coast Documentary Trailer

So many questions about this one. When's the final cut? Who is the guy rolling off the alphabetic roll call? I did have more but I can't remember?

Also has a snippet of the video to Say What by "BG" & Buzz, anyone got the full length cut?!

HP & Devise - Double Damage (Video)

You all know the name. And the song. If you don't, you need to check this now.

Jehst, Braintax & Mystro - Staircase to Stage (Live @ Concorde2 19-07-03)

This was one of the greatest shows I'd ever been to, and hosted a whole myriad of performers from YNR, LowLife etc. Then I go onto Soulseek about a week later and someone's got this video uploading? I messaged him about it and he said it was him who filmed it, small world, eh?

Good video though, even if it is short (I remember him saying his camera ran out of battery. As this show was in 2003 the quality shows it was obviously a camcorder so fair play I guess!)

Dirty Diggers - That's Why (Video)

Great music video from one of the top local-but-they're-not-local hip-hop groups, Dirty Diggers. Loads of scenes filmed in and around Brighton too.

Clever Looking Presents - The Brighton Hip-Hop Freestyle Battle (2004)

I couldn't get into this bastard as 8 Mile had just come out so too many people wanted to see 'live rapping'. First time it moved to Komedia as well.

If anyone's got an audio recording of this would be great, or better quality videos???

HP, Tom Hines & Dr Syntax - Live on Juice 107.4

Here to promote the 2005 Brighton Hip-Hop Festival (was it Rising Styles yet?), Tom Hines, HP and Dr Syntax all visited the studios of Brighton's own Juice 107 for an interview all about hip-hop in the city, what the festival's all about, and have a freestyle session at the end.

Either way, some good tunes from B-Town...
